Eileen is one of the most professionally mannered, creative, charismatic, and patient people I have had the pleasure of coming across. Her ability to work with children is truly a talent that goes beyond textbook knowledge and shows in her successful outcomes. It is her ability to simultaneously ease concerned parents' minds, however, that puts her head and shoulders above the rest!

When I met Eileen, I was NOT a new mom… but I was a new mom to triplets! From the very start, I had no reservations in handing off my children to Eileen’s capable hands. She not only knew what to do, she knew how to do it in ways that were fun and grew with the kids as they aged. I was always amazed with what she “came up with” and would ask, “what will that help them with?”. Eileen would explain and demonstrate and it was obvious that she always had a long term benefit in mind and the activities always evolved. The kids never had any idea that they were in “therapy”. As the kids got older, they would waddle over to watch for her at the window and would fight over who would work with her first. Eileen not only watched and evaluated the kids for what pertained to her line of work, but looked out for their overall well-being and progress. Over the first few years, she suggested a couple of other types of therapy to consider such as speech. “The babies” are now 11, and I’m still grateful for how Eileen kept us on track and on a successful path! She not only helped and supported my kids, but me as well! When I think of where “the babies” would have been years later had we not started working with Eileen…

I like my therapist Eileen very much because she makes learning fun…she uses all of my favorite things to do in our learning time together. My parents are very happy with the progress I have made.

I had the pleasure of meeting Eileen 8 years ago in a professional capacity while working as a NICU nurse in the same unit she was treating NICU patients as their physical therapist. I always felt confident in the care she provided to our NICU babies in a hospital setting. She was supportive and nurturing to her patients and their parents. She played an imperative role in helping our most vulnerable babies thrive both inside the NICU and in an outpatient setting after they were discharged home. Having been a NICU nurse for 15 years I can tell you how truly essential physical therapy is for the quality of life our patients will have. I always knew my patients were getting the absolute best from Eileen.

Eileen made a tremendous impact on our family when our baby Mischa had a neurologic post viral response just after her first birthday. In a few weeks we watched our perfectly healthy baby girl develop ataxia, dystonia, hypotonia, muscle weakness, and loss of milestone. It was a devastating and very scary time for our family. From the suggestion of a Pediatric Intensivist at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital we sought out at home physical therapy for Mischa. The idea was to help aid her recovery far beyond what they could provide in an outpatient PT office setting. Immediately I thought of Eileen and asked if she was up to the task. Without hesitation she became a vital part of Mischa’s care team. From the very beginning she reassured us, supported us and helped us get involved in Mischa’s recovery. We loved how she incorporated toys and furniture in our home with activities for her therapy. This was so helpful on the days that we worked with our daughter on our own. Eileen was always patient and professional, loving and warm to our baby and our older twin daughters. She even took the time to make the twins feel involved and important in helping Mischa get better! As a working mother of three toddlers I can’t even begin to tell you how helpful it was to have a physical therapist come to our home! The time and energy saved from not having to load kids in the car and commute to PT was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

A year later, I can proudly say that our darling Mischa has made a full recovery! I truly believe we owe that FULL recovery to Eileen. I do think Mischa would have made great progress in traditional outpatient PT. However, her time with Eileen developing the physical tools she needed to do her best was what took Mischa from merely meeting milestones, to absolutely thriving! I would even describe her as a strong, active, athletic 2 year old now!
Eileen has such a gift at looking at the whole child. She worked on everything from isolated joint weakness, to creative, fun ways to boost diaphragm strength. She achieved this all while engaging in play and making my child laugh and smile.

In the spring of this year Mischa was hospitalized in the Pediatric ICU for pneumonia. Sadly her thoracic muscles were too weak to handle the challenges of the infectious process and she needed intensive respiratory support. We were very worried about our daughter again and feared how bad she would get. But a true testament was given to Eileen when Mischa’s Pediatric ICU attending physician said that all her months of at home PT saved Mischa from needing intubation and ventilator support. To a parent with a baby struggling to breathe, that affirmation was an immense relief.
Eileen, as a person, is simply a gem! After she moved on from the NICU we stayed in touch, formed a beautiful friendship and enjoy raising our kids together. I never imagined needing her in a professional capacity for my own children but I can tell you with all my heart that she is the reason our darling Mischa is steadily; running, jumping, climbing, scootering, and absolutely thriving physically! Mischa adores Eileen and even took her first ever steps to her! That unforgettable day was exhilarating and relieving for all of us! Even beyond physicality, through her positive encouragement, she has given Mischa the confidence and self awareness to challenge herself. Maybe Mischa will be an athlete someday! Maybe she won’t, but with Eileen’s help we feel rest assured we have given her the very best chance to pursue her passions. There is truly no greater gift than giving a child the tools they need to achieve their dreams!

I met Eileen 15 years ago as she cared for 2 of my boys. She has a strong commitment to her patients. I knew one of my boys would never walk and remember saying I wasn't sure if the other one would. From the first day we met, she assured me he would walk. I trusted her. Eileen came to our home for 4 years and worked with my boys. One of them is no longer with us. He grew up with minimal problems because Eileen worked with him and showed me how to stretch him. The other one is a strong Junior in High School that walks, runs, and climbs stairs. He even plays basketball with the Special Olympics team of his school. Eileen became part of our family. Her care and support for us was excellent. As she worked with one boy, later with the other one, she always took time to include my third son in the therapy sessions. I will always be grateful for Eileen's dedication to my boys. She allowed me to help them be strong young men that became their best despite their limitations.
